What I’m Aiming For

September 4th, 2025

There’s a line in the teachings of Jesus: don’t throw pearls to pigs or give sacred things to dogs. Over time, it’s been twisted into something harsh, but the original picture is simple — a pearl may be beautiful, but it’s useless to a hungry pig. A crucifix may be holy, but it won’t feed a starving dog. Sooner or later, they’ll turn on you — not from malice, but from hunger.

That image has stayed with me.

I see it everywhere today: offerings that look polished and “precious,” but don’t actually feed anyone. Like handing a starving man a rosary when what he really needs is a meal.

I don’t want to be that guy. I’m not here to hand out shiny things that miss the point. I’m just another human, paying attention to the groaning in my own gut — for connection, understanding, belonging, contribution, safety, variety, and growth.

The hard work for me is tending to those hungers together: listening first, noticing where the ache is, and making space for what might nourish it. Not a packaged program, not a polished showpiece — just something real, alive, and useful in the moment. Something that nourishes life.

I’m here. My number’s at the bottom of the page, if you feel drawn to reach out and have a conversation.

Warmly,

Wil
